Biden opens up 20-point lead over Sanders in Arizona: poll

Former Vice President Joe Biden has opened a 20-point lead over his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), in Arizona, according to a poll released a day before the state’s primary.

Biden is backed by 51 percent of likely Democratic primary voters surveyed in the Monmouth University poll released Monday.

Sanders's support is at 31 percent.

Sanders leads Biden among Latino voters, 48 to 41 percent, based on the poll. The senator also has a lead with voters under 50 years old, at 56 to 28 percent.

But Sanders’s support is offset by Biden’s advantage with larger voting blocs in the state, including white voters at 55 percent to Sanders's 26 percent and voters 50 and over, at 64 percent to the senator's 16 percent.

A vote is a vote and Biden has many more of them. Biden will win, and he will deservedly be our nominee. But that is an amazing statistic. The "under 50" demographic includes a lot more than "college students". 56% to 28% in that broad an age bracket isn't close. That is the future rushing toward us. There is a sea change taking place in America, it just isn't coming to shore in time for this election.

I'm not grieving Jackie, but for those who might have wounds I suppose that offering cherries rather than pouring salt is always a good idea. I prefer Bernie but I am more than comfortable with Joe, and I too am pulling for him to pick Kamala.

9. I want a good study of how they got to Hispanic voters.

We know they have a world-class IT setup, costing several kings' ransoms and far more impressive than anything Sanders himself has ever achieved, completely out of his league.

What I want to know is what the messages targeted to these particular groups have been. We know Sanders lies SOP. We know more than half of Hispanics are conservative. We know those cons need an alternative candidate to Trump who is neither a liberal nor Democrat. We know they were persuaded Sanders is that man.

I just want it written up and on display for everyone to see what he and whomever have been up to.

Still, Sanders' main theme has never been a positive one. Even the great advances he promises are the candy that can be received only after they first defeat the Democrats.
