Megadonors pull plug on plan for anti-Sanders super PAC as Biden racks up wins

Joe Biden’s recent string of primary victories appears to have satisfied wealthy donors who were discussing the creation of a super PAC aimed at pushing Sen. Bernie Sanders out of the race.

Instead, it appears they will hold off on engaging in an all-out assault on Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist who shuns wealthy donors.

As recently as last week, a handful of big money donors, some of whom work on Wall Street, were contemplating creating a political action committee whose sole purpose would be try to knock Sanders out of the race, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter. They declined to be named as these conversations were deemed private.

The proposed goal was to raise at least $20 million to pay for ads and operational costs, these people noted. A super PAC allows organizers to raise and spend unlimited amounts.

I suppose it's all kind of a moot point now, as Joe is pretty well assured of the nomination.

I supported Bernie in 2016 (and of course supported Hillary in the general election), but I was over him this time. Since my first choice (Liz Warren) is out of it I'm now firmly behind Joe.

In any case, it's obvious that Bernie hasn't a chance in hell of getting the nomination and he's wasting his time and ours by staying in. It's time to concentrate on beating tRump, and I'd hope that those high rollers would put their $20 Million into educating voters about all the harm that tRump is doing.

...just ask Bloomberg.

But yeah, I agree with you. We need to reclaim control of SCOTUS and overturn the Citizens United decision and get big money under control again.

That's too bad, really.

He always had the best message and policy plans.

But Biden will certainly do ... anything to counteract
