Bernie's Not Planning on Going Quietly

https://politicalwire.com/2020/03/17/bernies-not-planning-on-going-quietly/

“Bernie Sanders’ path to the Democratic nomination is closing, but a quick exit is far from guaranteed — even if he gets wiped out Tuesday. From his debate posture to staffing moves to the ‘virtual rally’ he convened Monday evening, the Vermont senator is signaling that he may not be ready to concede,” Politico reports.

“If Sanders remains in the race, it will be in part to keep his ‘political revolution’ alive. According to people familiar with his thinking, Sanders will not only consider what’s best for his campaign, but also the progressive movement.”

“Many of Sanders’ aides and allies also expect him to press onward after Tuesday. They see a benefit in amassing as many delegates as possible in order to influence the party platform at the Democratic National Convention this summer — even if Sanders himself can’t win the nomination.”

Only in his mind. He's probably suffering from delusion of grandeur at this point. People, overwhelmingly, don't want him to be President. His likeability is tanking. He's starting to be a poster child for a yelling, angry old man.

I now believe Joe will win. I also believe Bernie needs to stay in the race while continuing to push Joe to the left.

3. He will damage the progressive movement if he drags this out.

I am sick of Sanders and his "revolution". I consider myself to be a progressive leaning moderate and always took seriously those who are on the left of the spectrum since that is often where good change start. But now with all the negative crap Sanders and his people are doing, I couldn't care less what they say or what they want. All I care about is defeating Trump and the GOP. I suspect I am not alone.

with Sanders. Many of us support Bernie’s and Warren’s ideas but think that Sanders isn’t the one to push those ideas. Hell, even most Sanders progressives are good people, it’s the assholes on social media who are the problem.

Most people see him as the progressive left leader and in fact he is at this point. If he really cares about the progressive movement he would drop out after today's shellacking.

Suck the oxygen of attention away from him. He can't hold rallies now and won't get media interviews except on shows by his devotees like Chris Hays.

If he doesn't get any attention, he will drop out.

He is doing all he can to damage the real Democrat Nominee for November. Just like in 2016.

It's not just stubbornness or arrogance. It is deliberate and coordinated.
