NOT disagreeing with the Ohio decision to stop the vote BUT

I really really hate the process used, AND the timing of the Gov. deciding this! I've heard time and time again here that the RETHUGS cannot stop the GENERAL election. NOW i have my doubts. Not that they will succeed BUT that they WILL cause ALL the trouble they can, to tie it up in the courts!! I feel this decision was made by the HEALTH dept. by PRESSURE from the RETHUGLICON Gov. (this i have no doubt.) I also feel this needs to be contested ONLY because of the way it was decided. THIS cannot be the finale answer the the RETHUGS tactics!! Sorry that's how i feel!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Ohio didn’t cancel its primary. It postponed its primary. There is a big difference.

No one is being disenfranchised. To the contrary, many people, and especially seniors, presumably would not vote and would effectively be disenfranchised if the primary were held today. If the primary is put off, those persons may be able to vote assuming the pandemic subsides or they can vote remotely.

In the interim, measures can be taken by the States to allow everyone to vote by mail, or by absentee ballot, or remotely by other means. The federal government could take steps to require that each of the States allows voting by mail or early voting for federal elections. GOTV efforts going forward should include encouraging voters to apply for absentee ballots in those states where voting by mail is not the norm.

In NY, you can request an absentee ballot up to 7 days before an election. The application is at https://www.elections.ny.gov/votingabsentee.html. Do it now for both the upcoming primary and the general.

We are in a new world now.

Don’t be an idiot, and don’t be overly dramatic. People are dying, and the spread of the virus may be curtailed by postponing (not cancelling) primaries so there is ample time for States to allow for remote voting. I don’t want my 78 year old parents going to polling places, and I don’t want to go myself. If you think I’m a coward, I have two words for you, and they are not “Happy Birthday.”

I did so, this morning, in one of the reddest states in the country. I took precautions, the poll workers kept things clean and safe, and democracy went forward.

Call me anything you want; I stand by my statement.

Why would the Republican governor want to give Biden opponents extra time to kneecap him, and smear him, and destroy him?
