Trump's approval going up should be a wake up call

This election will not be easy to win and where is Biden since Tuesday, he should controlling the messaging of the Democratic Party. Democrats should be running ads up and down the swing states about Trump’s incompetent handling of the c-virus.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Let's see an "approval" poll after the press conference yesterday?

It sure wasn't impressive, and he was contradicted by the FDA and members of the press, so I suspect the volatility of that approval will bounce right back down, especially as this progresses, and more people are impacted adversely\

Rump and Rethugs will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to gaslight and spin and manipulate this to their advantage. I can see the timing of the 'Trump cheques' (what the orange fucker and his legion of goons will spin them as) being planned out for maximum electoral impact down the road.

I am so, so worried about the Census. They can systematically fuck us for the next 10 years at a multiplicity of levels, including robbing us of vital House seats (and also going on another new round of gerrymandering via the state legislatures) and choking off monies flowing to the Blue states.

Fri Mar 20, 2020, 08:24 AM
Mar 2020
A majority of Americans now approve of President Donald Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new survey, as the administration has issued stricter federal guidelines in recent days and the president has adopted a more public-facing role in combating the disease.

An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Friday reports that 55 percent of respondents approve of Trump's management of the public health crisis, while 43 percent disapprove. The latest figures represent a boost in the president's rating from the previous iteration of the survey, published one week ago, which showed only 43 percent approval for Trump and 54 percent disapproval.

Fri Mar 20, 2020, 12:03 PM
Mar 2020

Of themselves, of others, of the circumstances asking "was there anything I could have done?" or "why did this have to happen?" etc

A bunch of the Trump deadheads will conclude it was punishment for their sins or maybe weird stuff you might imagine ignorant people could come up with. But some of them will find the truth. With quarantine and no jobs, these folks are going to have a lot of time on their hands to find out the truth of why their little girl's lungs are scared for life and why their doctor got sick with no protective equipment and the vaccine's Trump promoted to address this 'hoax' haven't appeared.

"If South Korea and the US had their first test case show up on the same day, why did the US lag so far behind the testing - which allowed it to spread more uncontrolled?"

The one thing that has held it together for Trump was the economy. I think we are headed for a much worse place than the great recession Obama faced. People are going to be miserable or worse and for a number of them, the buck will stop with Trump.

If Trump's approval drops from 43% to 38%, battleground states will be real hard to win.

His approval may rise beyond 43% short term, but when reality sets in, it won't stay there.

I think it will get worse for Trump than that. And when it starts to happen, some of the rats will abandon ship.

Trump will not hold an election, will throw a wrench in it or challenge it legally. He won't go quietly. So his fall in approval will only get us so far.

Since you've probably been way too busy totally fucking up this coronavirus thingy you ignored for so long you've likely not had much time to follow the stock market lately. So I thought I'd give you a real quick update just to let you know where you stand so you can see what an awesome job you're doing for everybody's 401Ks, since you used to remind everybody every day ad nauseam not very long ago before this Democratic hoax showed up at our doorstep.

When Obama illegally entered the White House (him not even being an American, after all) on Jan 20, 2009 the DJIA closed at 7949 that afternoon. The day you mercifully took the reins from the Worst President Ever the DJIA opened up at 19795. Let's do some real quick math, okay bud?

Jan 20, 2009 - 7949
Jan 20, 2017 - 19795

A 149% increase in 8 years, or an average of 18.6% return per year. Not too shabby, especially considering ol' Barack took over when Dubya's economy was in a total freefall and we were hemorrhaging about 700,000 jobs each and every month. Dubya says he got an MBA from Yale but he sure didn't know too much about economics. Anyway, I digress.

Today the DJIA just closed at 19174, so let's get the calculator out again.

Jan 20, 2017 - 19795
Mar 20, 2020 - 19174

Oops, that's a 3% drop from when you took over. Hooboy, I'll bet Obama beating you at the stock market and beating you BADLY really sticks in yer craw, don't it Donnie? You being a very stable genius and all, financial and otherwise.

But cheer up, Mr President. This 3% loss will probably look real good compared to where it's gonna be by the time that senile Sleepy Joe Biden boots you outta the Oval Office. Maybe you should tell all your wonderful charming kids to buy a lot of put options, huh? Or have they already? Wouldn't put it past 'em...they say the rotten apples don't fall too far from the tree. Good luck, Mr President...and God help the rest of us. Because you sure as hell won't.

sense, it's probably not true. This has to be fake. It's a lie. Gallup published a poll the other day showing his approval had gone down to 44%. The stock market down 30+% and nobody can breath the air. 2 million new unemployment claims.

Job approvals don't suddenly shoot up under such circumstances. They just don't.

You should focus on getting the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Man to realize he’s been summarily defeated and needs to behave as such.

There's no chance that people think favorably of what's happening.

Not only that, but Biden has just announced that he will be doing "shadow" briefings each day pointing out the flaws in Mr. Trump's approach. So there goes the idea that he hasn't been around since Tuesday, or can't campaign, or whatever.

Over essentially the same period of time and has a larger sample.
The margin of error on the poll that has him at 55% approve is +/-5%

It’s possible that people are also responding to the proposals for direct payments to help the offset the decline in the economy. If so, those approval gains will be short-lived beyond the last check, especially if the economy is still in the tank.

It’s normal and his overall approval didn’t change much. Usually that goes up significantly during a crisis.
