Bernie Sanders, it's time to go
The results of the Saint Patricks Day primaries in Florida, Illinois and Arizona show that Joe Biden has a lead in delegates that cannot be overcome short of a miracle. We already have seen one miracle the resurgence of Joe Biden. Its not going to happen twice in the same presidential campaign.
After the Tuesday blowout, Biden has increased his delegate lead so that Sanders should recognize that he is just satisfying his ego by staying in the race and possibly irreparably hurting the Democratic Party.
Sanders was a major factor in Hillary Clinton losing to Trump. Bernie claims that Joe Biden is his friend and that they just differ on ideas. Well, now is the time to give up the ego contest, face up to reality and do the right thing by withdrawing from the race for president.
Sanders should not only get out but pledge to work for Biden and ask his supporters to do likewise.

Dolly Parton Pays Tribute to Late Friend Kenny Rogers: 'I Will Always Love You'
Dolly Parton took to social media on Saturday morning to emotionally pay tribute to her late friend and fellow country star, Kenny Rogers.
"You never know how much you love somebody until theyre gone," Parton captioned a video she posted to social media. "Ive had so many wonderful years and wonderful times with my friend Kenny, but above all the music and the success I loved him as a wonderful man and a true friend. So you be safe with God and just know that I will always love you, dolly."
In the video, Parton sits at the piano, holding a framed picture of the pair that she displays in her home. "Well, I couldn't believe it when I got up this morning and turned on the TV...and they told me that my friend and singing partner Kenny Rogers had passed away," she says. "I know that we all know that Kenny's in a better place than we are today, but I'm sure that he's gonna be talking to God sometime today, if he ain't already, and he's gonna be asking him to spread some light on a bunch of this darkness going on here."

(2,760 posts)I look forward to checking the box for Senator Sanders when I vote in Oregon in May. In her endorsement, AOC stated, "He has been fighting for me since before I was born." I'm older than Bernie, so I can't claim that, but he has been fighting for all the things I have championed throughout my life. He will always be a hero to me.

As soon as he drops out he loses any media attention.
Quite frankly, I hope Biden is doing the same thing. Biden will be the nominee, although at this point I seriously doubt there will be an election this year.

(8,147 posts)nation on it. Put together an advisory team of experts. Gave a press briefing just the other day.
Now talking by phone seven hours a day with governors and mayors throughout the country. Set out an excellent plan (summarized in his speech and outlined at his site). Starting by Monday will act as a shadow to Trumps leadership, or rather lack of, through media interaction, streaming, events all from his home which has been completely fitted out for.
As fo4 me, I hope Sanders gets out. He gave a round table with musicians. This was after Biden, far more qualified and experienced in pandemic and medical matters than he, took up the global crisis.
However, Bernie did not vote on the Coronavirus supplemental assistance bill.

Fact is it would be beautiful if Bernie bowed out as gracefully as that song. It is time say goodbye.
Lyrics
When I am alone I sit and dream
And when I dream the words are missing
Yes I know that in a room so full of light
That all the light is missing
But I don't see you with me, with me
Close up the windows, bring the sun to my room
Through the door you've opened
Close inside of me the light you see
That you met in the darkness
Time to say goodbye
Horizons are never far
Would I have to find them alone
Without true light of my own with you
I will go on ships over seas
That I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye
When you were so far away
I sit alone and dream of the horizon
Then I know that you are here with me, with me
Building bridges over land and sea
Shine a blinding light for you and me
To see, for us to be
Time to say goodbye
Horizons are never far
Would I have to find them alone
Without true light of my own with you
I will go on ships over seas
That I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye
So with you I will go
On ships over seas
That I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye
So with you I will go...
I love you

(26,682 posts)It looks divisive and self serving. It's time to be a uniter not a divider. Preserve dignity and help his followers to see the way forward to beat fat Nixon.
If he and Mr. Biden are truly "friends" I'd like to see them act like it. As is, I am not convinced.
It makes me sad for Senator Sanders and his followers. They're flirting with disaster. Time to get together and make a contract that leads the way toward victory.
As it stands now, I'm disappointed we're not more dedicated to unity against what is the worst existential threat to our democracy in my lifetime.

(71,040 posts)helping Trump...it makes me sick. No one cares but the minority of Bernie supporters...half of what he had last time...who cares what he says...only words I care about are..."I concede" so we can beat the most dangerous president in history...Sanders supporters need to understand and accept that the primary is over.Sanders has lost.

(26,682 posts)How is he unifying the country, exactly?
Link me to the fundraising sites and I'll make a donation.
Define "situation."
I never questioned his competence or his ability to be caring.
You words could be used as Exhibit A to provide proof that there's more dividing than uniting going on here.
They are exactly why I find things to be more contentious than arms open wide welcoming.

(2,760 posts)Please excuse me if you felt that was what I was doing. You may not have ever questioed his competence or caring, but many have. If you want to see the groups Senator Sanders is helping to raise money for, you can log on to "Our Revolution" and find the listing. He is not trying to divide, but by staying on as a candidate he has a better platform to help with the Covid-19 crisis. His ideas and suggestions are worthwhile.

(71,040 posts)a race you lost in order to continue to have a 'platform'. His platform was soundly rejected, and now he needs to go away. Sanders is a Senator ...he is hurting our presumptive nominee. He needs to do his job and if he doesn't very soon should be primaryed so Vermont can have a senator that represents them and not some revolution. I see Sanders only won Vermont by 51%. A democratic primary opponent might very well beat him. He can write another book.

(7,417 posts)...which BTW, includes ME ... how is running against the Democratic party & repeatedly insulting Democratic voters like me "helping to unify the country"?
I voted for Bernie in the 2016 primary. Back then, I liked him. He had to work hard to drive me away ... & he did it. He did it by running against Democrats & the Democratic party in 2020, as opposed to running against Trump.
I'm truly sad that he chose to do that, but he did. 100% his choice, & now I 100% reject him.
