God damnit.

Before now, I have once in my lifetime experienced someone with such a narcissists ego. Make it two now.

He must concede. We need to get on with the general. We don’t need someone biting at our heels from the left giving the enemy talking points to trash us.

GO THE FUCK AWAY BERNIE

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Sun Mar 22, 2020, 02:26 PM

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders raised a massive sum in February -- more than $47 million, according to his campaign's filing Friday with the Federal Election Commission.

And he spent nearly as much: Burning through $45 million -- or more than three times the $13.1 million spent by Biden's camp in February

It Boggles my freaking mind!

What's To "ASSESS"?..

Despite the heavy spending, Sanders entered March with a substantial financial cushion of nearly $18.7 million in leftover cash, his filings show.

Sanders said this week he still was assessing the state of his campaign after the string of Biden victories had effectively closed his path to the Democratic presidential nomination.

Thank you for the article, George.. somebody had to do a write on this phenomenal difference in the cash flow.. and who WON sometimes with spending No Money!

If the DNC steps in and declares Joe the winner, it will only give Bernie and his followers and excuse to bay at the moon some more about how the system is fixed against him. I guess it was fixed against him the entire time he's been in Congress, because he never got a damn thing done. Oh, sorry. He did manage to get 2 Post Offices named.

Sorry, but politics is about compromise...you can't always get what you want. He says himself he doesn't like that stuff. Medicare for All is a great selling point, but it's just not going to get through. Not yet. It takes something like 50 years for politicians to catch up with the public. For example, NORML was founded in 1970. Colorado & Washington went legal for recreational use in 2012. Do the math.

Bernie could have lectured all he wanted on Socialism vs. Communism, and it wouldn't have made any difference. Trump would have branded him a communist, photo shopped him into an old May Day Red Square photo, shown pictures of little old ladies in babuskas sweeping the streets and waiting in lines for bread, and cleaned his clock. We would have 4 more years of Trump, and the death knell of Democracy.

It's time to get over it and get behind Biden, as I'm sure the Bernie Bros would have demanded from the entire Democratic Party had he been the nominee.

I don't think I "trashed" Sanders or those who have supported him; I'd rather see him in the White House than Biden. But it's over. The sooner Sanders can acknowledge that publicly the less damage his less discerning supporters will do.

And applause for common sense.

How can people expect us not to be angry when we have a presumptive nominee, continued primaries will endanger and even kill the vulnerable among our populace, and we've finally got a chance to remove this orange buffoon from office?

Every lame excuse Bernie and his minions have for keeping him in as some sort of leverage or spoiler can be countered by the overwhelming need we have to balance out trump.

And many of them are not telling the truth about their positions. See them on JPR, Twitter, or Facebook, and they'll say what they can't say here, that they think that Biden and Trump are the same and that either will support the corporate elite and nothing will change. I mean seriously, what about the Supreme Court? What about children in cages? I spend so much time wondering how anyone could actually support this awful president, but lately, I've had to allot part of that time to wonder how so many of these Berners can be willing to risk another four years of Trump and the damage that will cause.

I thought 2016 was the year that proved horseshoe political theory. 2020 really takes that honor now.

So what you're telling us is we all should have sat home if Bernie was the nom, because the Berners went scorched earth both before and after the primaries of 2016 and they're doing the same thing now.

The absolute entitlement and, worse, the sheer double standards of nearly every Bernie supporter I've ever encountered on any platform, digital or not has been utterly nauseating.

Platform planks that no one reads or gives a plugged nickel for?

Rules changes he hopes might make the field easier for his next run, despite his being twice soundly rejected by Democratic primary votes?

Perhaps promoting some angry demonstrations by the wreckers who stand as his delegates, to make sure Democrats are sorry for rejecting 'Bernie' yet again?

Do, please, enlighten us....

"From Bernie’s perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they don’t want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. Platform planks emerging from a convention mean nothing. They mean less than nothing. They are mere pious noise. They do not bind any administration in office, or drive its policies. These will be based the apparent political realities facing officeholders once sworn in. It has been ages since a party platform meant anything, the civil rights plank of the Democratic convention in 1948 being about the most recent instance that comes to mind. The claim Sanders stays in the contest to influence the platform may well be true, but if it is, the man is an idiot, the sort who would step out his door with his shoes on his head and his feet in his hat.

Getting a couple of post offices named doesn't seem to have had much of an affect. I can propose asinine legislation that has the same chance of passing as the future of a snowball in hell. Sorry, but that just isn't the way a democracy works. Democracy requires compromise a quality that the Republicans are especially short of but the other extreme is just as much a failure.

Unfortunately, there is only one solution for the present stalemate and that is the defeat of the Republican Party that will force it to address their policies of endorsement of radical segments of the populous to gain their support. This includes religious factions that have no regard for the religious liberty and whose desire is to effectively create a theocracy little different than those that are responsible for much of the blood shed throughout Middle East. The Republican Party's candidates thinly veiled support of racists and attacks on voting rights is a disgrace that would have been met without right condemnation by previous party leaders. The party has drifted so far into the depths of darkness that it is doubtful that it even has the ability for resurrection for the grave it has dug. They must be forced into a position in which their voice of support of outright evilness is forever silenced and rejected as antithetical to noble bases upon which this nation was founded.

The Biden supporters need to slow down. The process isn’t over until the final vote is tallied at the Convention. Until then, Sen Sanders has every right to stay in the race until HE decides to suspend his campaign. He could ask for compassion for homeless people and workers without cars who can't even get emergency cell phones charged because they cannot access restaurants anymore and libraries are closed.

When restaurants are doing drive thru only and supermarkets are now closed from 8pm to 8am how do homeless people relieve themselves?

If they get sick and have a dead cell phone they can't even call for help.

Biden can speak up now for all of these people . It won't hurt him in the general.

It may, however, influence the attitude and behavior of the hundreds (thousands?) of Sanders supporters who will read it here, and that may negatively impact our campaign and the November election.

Decency and respect for the opinions of others is rarely a bad thing.

Is meaningless ranting at others not a form of narcissism?

sorry, making fun of your typo...Will take any chance I can to laugh these days...

What is NO laughing matter however is this person you speak of not dropping out making it UNBELIEVABLY CLEAR it is about him, not us or the agenda.

I am kidding about the typo...I am on your side.

up. That isn't going to happen.

Sanders could be talking to the Biden people to force in some of his policy ideas before dropping out, but they don't seem to be doing that, the Sanders campaign is still sending out negative and factually wrong information about Biden.

You did the best you could with the numbers you had but it just wasn't enough so time to concede to the one left standing.

You pushed for some policies that unfortunately our country just isn't quite ready for yet or cannot afford at this time. But if you moved the nation just a little in the right direction then you will have accomplished something and made a valuable contribution to American society. We will try to implement some other of your ideas that are financially feasible and that we have the political clout to enact. That's the best we can promise and the best you can hope for. Please don't fuck this up, Bernie...we have too much on the line this election.
