My 75 year old husband has a myraid of health issues . For him to contract this, he is as good as dead.

I am shy of 68, in good health, but not guaranteed that if I come down with this, I too could die.

Damn right, Joe Biden knows that SS payments need to be boosted .

a 10K grant should be for all with medical debt from catastrophic illness, student loan debt (without regard to income) and for everyone else with income below some cut off, 75K maybe. it is important that folks who served or managed to get going with out school debt, and aren't super rich yet, get the money too.

the prices for my one TV with HBO, Showtime, and DVR, plus internet, 30%. I spent over an hour trying to get someone on the phone who would reduce that increase. I told them my Social Security check only went up 1.6%. How could they justify a 30% increase? One of the people that I first spoke to tried to tell me I didn't know how to figure the percentage increase. Another agent told me that I was getting a "deal" because my increased price was still a reduction from their normal price.

When all this over, I'm going to get my son to set me up without cable TV. Fuck these guys.

30 bucks a month and they gave a promise of no commercials.......

My friends in Europe tell me they pay 30 bucks a month for their cell phone, and 30 bucks a month for high speed internet. Their cable TV with more channels than we have is about 40 a month. And, their High Speed internet is a much higher speed than ours.....

It would help us, certainly. However, I'm OK with my current benefits. I realize, though, that such an increase would be a life-saver for others on Social Security who do not have other sources of income. For that reason, I strongly support this increase.

Mon Mar 23, 2020, 06:23 PM

I have helped people qualify for disability, Medi-Cal (Calif's version of Medicaide) and other state/govt benefits. If one goes over a certain percentage of the poverty level, one loses the benefits. With some persons receiving $200.00 more in a monthly check, this could kick them off of certain benefits because their income becomes too high. So for some, this would hurt greatly and not help.

If at this time during the pandemic, the funds were called something else and not tied to Social Security but were intended as part of the Medicaide program, I think this might be the way to go. Funds could be designated to be used for things that help prevent the spread of disease. It could be paid through Social Security, but marked as a special payment for limited conditions at this time.

Just a thought.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
