Joe Biden sided with Senate Democrats for scuttling Republican plans to pass a more than $2 trillion coronavirus economic relief package for the House to consider Monday.
"It's simple: President Trump and Mitch McConnell are trying to put corporate bailouts ahead of families. And it's simply wrong," Biden said in a statement late Sunday.
The 2020 Democratic presidential candidate described provisions for $500 billion in loans to industries hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic as a "slush fund," "with almost no conditions," without providing "sufficient, sustainable relief to workers." He borrowed language from congressional Democrats who aren't happy with the current deal with their GOP counterparts and the White House.
"The Trump Administration could even allow companies to use taxpayers money for stock buybacks and executive pay packages, and they dont have to tell Americans where the money is going for months," the two-term vice president said.

(12,712 posts)Spare nothing when the Captains of Industry need some "socialism" and a healthy welfare check to ride as Queens in their limousines.
The people's "welfare" is a bad, bad word, you know. The GOP has been avidly working on that for decades. Socialism, of course is great, but only for those that are considered worthy of it. It's really a two-tier system and I wonder how long that can continue as it becomes more obvious.

This is what we're up against, and why so many clueless tools believe WE're the problem, helped along by various toxic actors of course. Any commentary about problems in congress that false-equalizes both parties is intended to poison and deceive.
