Most states have “sore loser” laws which prevent someone who lost a primary from getting on the ballot.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

As a Warren supporter it was very hard to move on... yet, by and large we were realists (along with the supporters of the other candidates you mention).

By contrast, so many Sanders supporters (not all!!!) are idealistic and have so much invested in Bernie personally, as the one savior of the country. They're going to need more talking down.

But that process can't start until their leader starts it. It's been long enough to do the math. Meanwhile my young idealistic pavement-pounding Bernie supporting friends on FB are in full attack dog mode against Biden. I was savaged last night on FB by a bunch of them because I dared hint that posting videos of girls looking creeped out by Biden's attention is simply doing Trump's dirty work for him. They whined that the DNC is somehow denying him a fair shot rather than simply accepting that Biden is beating Bernie.

So it's harder yet more urgent, given the proclivities of some of his supporters. The apparent void of leadership in that campaign right now is a problem.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

They're doing the same thing they did in 2016 in being disruptive traitors, and BS is twiddling his thumbs, rather than shutting that crap--and his failed campaign--down.

I hope all of them know that we are watching.

And we will remember.

....in Vermont.

I understand what you're saying, but as a Senator from Vermont, what do all his supporters have vested in him personally?

These are unprecedented times, maybe even worse than the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. Our Party has to move on NOW, we can't waste time waiting for a petulant politician to lick his wounds and face reality.

I said this a couple of times today, until he withdraws and Biden becomes our presumptive nominee, a number of very important things remain on hold - endorsements from Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and many other prominent Democrats. Also on hold is the DNC throwing the weight of their infrastructure behind Biden and they can't begin fundraising for him or running ads for him.

It's time, and we're wasting time. Hate to sound melodramatic, but the future of our country is on hold until Biden and ALL Democrats can begin the General Election campaign.

It's about what we realists call "purity tests." Only Bernie fights for me, only Bernie understands, only Bernie is true to his principles.

It's a bit of a cult of personality for some of his die-hard supporters. (Please understand, I'm not saying there aren't good reasons to prefer Bernie to Biden... I'm just saying that there exists a vocal fraction of Sanders supporters who are influential with their peers, are having a very hard time letting go of the campaign, and seem quite willing to use smearing our likely nominee as a tactic to keep their hopes alive.)
