Why Elizabeth Warren Is Everywhere On Coronavirus Response

This is why I voted for Elizabeth Warren. She is not some arm chair progressive attacking Democrats from the sidelines in order to promote herself. Elizabeth Warren is rolling up her sleeves and doing her job pushing progressive ideas and actually working to get them into a bill. Some candidates refuse to do their jobs, let the experience of actually governing tarnish the so-called purity of their ideals. But people are suffering and dying in the real world and Warren is doing her best to help them, rather than grandstanding.

This is why I hope that Biden gives her serious consideration as a VP.

On March 4, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren was in the middle of ending her 14-month presidential bid, following a disappointing finish in key states on Super Tuesday. She would officially drop out the next day.

Still, Warren found time to fire off a letter to the Department of Homeland Security, asking it to suspend immigration enforcement actions at hospitals and other medical facilities during the coronavirus outbreak.

The senator has barely let up since.

Even before she left the presidential race, Warren had worked to shape seemingly every element of the federal government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and the steep recession that is almost certainly coming with it. Her proposal to bar companies who receive bailout funds from stock buybacks has been endorsed by even conservative Republicans, and she worked with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to make canceling student debt part of the Democratic Party’s proposed response to the crisis.

She can do the things that have to be done to achieve progress, and convey to people why doing so in necessary.

"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."

We already have a narcissistic President who blames Democrats at every opportunity. The last thing we would want is a so-called progressive who also can't help but blame his would be Democratic allies in order to elevate his profile.

Trump finds someone to blame on coronavirus: Andrew Cuomo

Six days ago, with President Trump easing into a more realistic and unity-based posture toward the coronavirus, he assured us all that the situation the country found itself in wasn’t due to anyone in particular.

“It was nobody’s fault. This happened — I mean, some people could say it was somebody’s fault, actually — but it was nobody’s fault,” Trump said Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Trump suddenly seemed to have identified a culprit: New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D).

I’ve supported Warren for president for years, starting before she announced her candidacy for the Senate.

She would have made a great president. A once in a generation candidate.

I don’t want her to be wasted as VP. I think she can do the most good right where she is, fighting the good fight.

Currently there's a republican governor in Massachusetts.

He could appoint a republican to fill the seat instead of having a vote.

Even then I don't trust the people as they voted Scott Brown in.

a terrific job as Senators. They are showing up and counting in the fight for fair treatment for US workers and families. Although they are no longer candidates for the Democratic nomination for President, they are pitching in heavily as elected Senators.

Amy Klobuchar's husband is sick with COVID-19, but she's still doing her work as a Senator. Kamala Harris is faithfully participating in the Senate, as usual, and Elizabeth Warren is standing tall in that body.

None of them are pouting about not doing so well in the primary races. They're there at work, doing their jobs.

A hearty tip of the hat to all of our Democratic Senators who were once primary candidates!
