Slate has a good Idea about Warren and Klobuchar as the face of the party durring the crisis.

Why not turn over the party’s messaging about the pandemic to the two-woman team of Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren?

That the piece makes some really good points.

Anyone who saw Amy on Maddow the other night saw the emotional impact of her husband's situation has. We have a country longing for some sort of unity in the face of the crisis and having those two working together putting out a clear message with real information could just end up saving lives.

Biden will be the nominee. He is the face of the party.

Also, if Biden needed a surrogate (he does not), Cuomo is the more obvious choice.

That Slate writer, like Slate in general, can't get over the fact that voters rejected their choices.

5. Agree 100 percent. Slate has always been anti-Biden. He has already launched a plan, an advisory

team, and has a shadow effort to Trump’s well under way. He will be the nominee. He also has experience and knowledge through being #2 during H1N1 and Ebola and working in cancer moonshot. His plan pre-virus was to focus on research in diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and cancer. He has
talked to researchers across this nation. He’s also been consulting with governors and mayors.

He is perfectly situated to counter Trump’s misleads.

All candidates need surrogates. Furthermore, they need people to test their language before the candidate does. A few "surrogate" interviews before the actual candidate can't hurt.

I think that some voters and some media outlets will think that anything Biden says is politicizing the situation. If there was a sensible GOP person I could suggest to help either Warren or Klobuchar, I would. But there isn't. So I think that pairing the two of them is a great idea.

I just checked it out and you are so right. Who would appoint these two? Biden? He's not even the nominee. Once it's official, he has to choose a veep, and they are both in contention. This would take them out of consideration. Also Warren hasn't endorsed him, but Amy has. So it's not in the least doable, not to mention they both have jobs already.

But they never say a decent thing about Biden. Nothing but a dismissive, snide tone toward him despite the fact he is winning the primary by far. Classic echo chamber.

If Biden was in government right now that would be different but because he is not he cannot command the attention he should and the power he doesn't have.

Right now Biden needs to be outside but above it all. As the summer comes and the election nears he can take a much more active position. With the two as the face of the Senate Democrats (where the action is) give a unity message and will make them important surrogates later in the campaign season.

As stereotypical as this sounds, people run to Mom when they are sick.
