Related: About this forumSo this Forum will officially close out after we have an official Democratic candidate for 2020,

I expect this to be at the Convention, am I correct?

(1,076 posts)They should examine their priorities, and their ignorance.
The DNC has effectively zilch to do with the primary process. They control the debates, and that's about it. Everything else is outside their control.
When to have primaries and where to let people vote are decided by states and counties, not the DNC. The DNC didn't tell states when to have their primaries. State laws did.
The DNC didn't decide who to put on ballots. States decide who qualifies to be on the ballot, and then campaigns file to run. The state decides if they meet the criteria or not.
The voters aren't chosen by the DNC. They register with their state as voters, usually through their counties.
The DNC doesn't decide where polling places would be (counties usually control that), or how many there will be (counties control that, too), or the method for casting ballots (states or counties control that).
The DNC doesn't count the votes, either. Local government does that, too.
Do keep up, but it would mean letting go of all those moronic conspiracy theories about a big, bad DNC out to get BS.

(17,275 posts)I didn't declare because I didn't want any bias or prejudice aimed at my posts/responses.
However, since the last round, I just "assumed" that it was all over except for the acknowledgement from any remaining candidate(s).
So, to prove that I'm NOT disgusted with the way things are - and to vow to any and all - I support JOE and I WILL VOTE FOR HIM!

(1,787 posts)I dont think either of them are particularly good general election candidates and neither are the type of president we need at this time.
Both Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg were at one time or another my declared primary candidates.
Fortunately Trump appears to be imploding. Well probably be okay.
I dont feel the need to choose between Joe and Bernie because I expect to vote for whoever the rest of yez chooses.
If that drives you crazy I guess youll just have to be crazy.

(15,922 posts)and 2016 primaries were rougher than this years. Its funny how some Sanders supporters are claiming theyre being bullied. From what I remember Sanders supporters were pretty brutal to Clinton supporters. Much worse than whats going on now.

(2,760 posts)As much as you want him to drop out, the decision is not yours to make. There are two dozen primaries yet to go and many of us still want tto vote. My state votes totally by mail, so it will not be cancelled or delayed. DU can close out the forum, but that doesn't affect Bernies campaign. He is running until HE decides he is not.

They're in for a rude awakening.

(2,760 posts)because that's what it will take come November. Senator Sanders stated from day one he entered the race that his number one goal was to beat Trump. Insinuating any differently does not change reality.

(3,814 posts)someone might fumble the ball just in time for them to make a miraculous recovery.
The tougher approach (James Carville style) should've been used against them long time ago.
The hardcore Berners are not Dems (they're leftist independents and anarchists) and are not going to vote Dem anyway.

(17,275 posts)- and lord knows we need to find something to claim about how beautiful our country is right now - but we also need to look ahead - where are we going - what can we do to get us there.
We DO have a common goal - IQ45 had got to go.
How do we do it?
THAT is what we need to agree upon - and I think it is rather obvious that a majority has.
OK, so what's next?
Let's get EVERYBODY back to the common goal - IQ45 has got to go - and we fight TOGETHER to get that done.

He may be in denial but so say the voters, even in states and districts he won the last time. The flame is out, there's no burn to feel. Time for Biden to pivot to the GE.
