(2,897 posts)I prefer Joe, but I dont understand why some Biden supporters cant let it go. We have won. Why dont you get that. Bernie will eventually fade into obscurity, but not until you guys let it go.

"Which side are you on" is false and helps Republicans. There are small policy differences between Democrats and Sanders turns it into an enormous fundamental difference, "us" vs "them."

Go elsewhere or dont vote at all. Seems like a true Biden supporter would try to build bridges, but thats not what I see going on here.
The tweet that you referenced was made the day after Super Tuesday. Not all the votes had been counted, and it wasnt yet obvious that Biden was going to win the nomination, so Bernie was correctly still in a competitive mode. Hes not trying to divide our party now that Joes win is more obvious. How would you have felt if the tables had been turned and Bernie won Super Tuesday, and all over DU divisors were posting Joe needs to drop out right now. Not exactly a way to build allies, is it?
Like I said, the only people I see trying to divide our party are posting the same repetitive arguments all over DU. Even when nobody is paying that much attention to the primary right now, mainly because Joe Biden has won it, and everyone knows it, including Bernie. Hes just trying to influence our platform as best he can before he heads off into the sunset.
Are you sure youre happy that Joe will be our nominee?
AND DONT POSTS THAT INSULT OUR CANDIDATES VIOLATE THE RULES AROUND HERE?????

(5,969 posts)Bridge building was tried but a portion of the BS followers would rather see Trump get another term if BS doesn't win the nomination. I don't think people are sick here of the BS supporters on DU who are for the most part not the problem. First, they are sick of his staff pushing lies and distortions, some of them with a history of encouraging others not to vote for Clinton, some of them Green voters themselves. And secondly, once you take a look outside of DU, you see the most deranged and toxic shit from BS' followers. They are vile and there is no reasoning with them.
And I don't think BS is persuaded he has lost. People would care less about him not dropping out and fighting for issues if he and his surrogates wouldn't go negative against the presumptive nominee. If the primaries were over, there'd be no need for that. And yet you continue to see his staff feeding the toxicity and causing more and more resentment against the Democratic Party.

(2,897 posts)I just dont see how we win them over by being so hostile to them and their candidate. Yo are probably right about most Green part voters. But really we have a lot more in common with them than any other viable party.
You know, if Bernie really wanted to hurt us, all he would have to do is run as a 3rd party.

(1,315 posts)1. Biden has a #metoo problem -- created by a Bernie supporter Lucy Flores
2. Biden is demented - created by republicans and propagated by Cenk Uygur and Sean King
3. Biden is republican-lite created by the Bernie campaign and spread through their distribution
It is clear that the most aggressive bros will never vote for Biden anyway. They are libertarians, green party or just plain anarchists. We say fuck them.

(67,782 posts)THAT is why you see what you call "hatred" toward Sanders and his people. He never takes responsibility for any of this, even though he's paying some of them very good salaries to be so destructive.

(28,833 posts)It will have zero impact. It certainly isn't stopping him from fading into obscurity. It doesn't have any effect whatsoever.
There's nothing wrong with criticizing his campaign for, just in the past month or so, claiming Biden has dementia via a doctored video being pushed by the Trump team, claiming that he's "disappeared", and pushing a shaky rape story from a Putin/Sanders surrogate that not even Fox News will touch.
Frankly, I'm more concerned that some seem to have no problem with any of the false claims and just summarily brush them off. Though, that's par for the course for the past five years.
Edit: clarification
