Biden needs to stand on his own feet, he doesn't need Obama's coattails

Last edited Thu Mar 26, 2020, 05:22 PM - Edit history (1)

Don’t get me wrong, Obama saved our country and I admire and honor his opinion now, but Joe is running for President, he needs to take the reins. He has the experience that he can hold up against anyone, he doesn’t need Obama’s approval anymore.

Joe Biden consults Obama over choice of running mate

It could be that you meant well and the context is missing but when you post a thread, you should be there to answer questions if clarifications are needed. Hit and run threads are just annoying and serve no purpose on a discussion forum.
But it almost sounds like these typical things that start with an assumption (Biden depends on Obama and cannot do it alone) without any basis and then we pretend that this is a fact and argue needlessly about a scenario that isn't reality.

But I don't get what's to worry about. In 2008, Obama probably talked with others as well about potential VP picks. It doesn't mean Biden is dependent on Obama or that he won't be the one making the final decision. The way he revealed that he talked about this with Obama, it even might not have been the reason why they had a conversation, it might have just come up.

....like Lincoln’s cabinet of rivals, he needed to hear both sides of an issue, then weigh his decision, my opinion the wisest of leaders.
Throughout this primary Joe has used his position as Obama’s VP as a crutch for Black support, or on the economy of being a “Obama - Biden Democrat” when Bernie touted Democratic Socialism. When his voting record was BETTER for unions and workers rights than Obama’s while senators.
He is more than strong enough to run on his record and because he isn’t scripted,?he will garner more blue collar support from Trump, but he has got to To put himself on the stump and not anyone else.

the reason Obama picked Joe as his running mate is he thought Joe could help him. I really don’t think Joe needs help picking a running mate. He knows what he’s doing. Don’t get me wrong, I voted for Obama twice and miss his leadership, intelligence, and calm demeanor. Oh how I miss that man.

My point (which seemingly missed its mark) was Joe Doesn’t Need it. He has a very admirable record on his own, I even favored Joe when he ran against the Field against Hilary and Obama. He is more genuine to the common man that will pull in the Blue collar vote (which used to be the democratic base) the black vote, LGBTQ....he isn’t scripted or polished and I believe scares team Trump more than anything else.
