CNN to host town hall with Joe Biden on coronavirus

(CNN)Former Vice President Joe Biden will participate in a live CNN town hall Friday night focused on the coronavirus, the network announced Thursday.

"The Coronavirus Pandemic A CNN Democratic Presidential Town Hall with Joe Biden" will air at 8 p.m. ET and feature questions submitted by individuals living in some of the communities hit hardest by the coronavirus. CNN's Anderson Cooper will moderate the hourlong discussion on the impact to Americans' health, the repercussions for the nation's economy and the human toll to US society.

Biden will join the town hall via satellite from his home studio in Delaware. The Democratic presidential candidate has been critical of President Donald Trump's response to the pandemic, and this week he told CNN's Jake Tapper that he thinks Trump should allow the experts and scientists to do the talking.

"Look, we all want the economy to open as rapidly as possible," Biden told Tapper. "The way to do that is let's take care of the medical side of this immediately. ... (Trump's) not responsible for the coronavirus, but he's responsible for the delay in taking the actions that need to be taken, as far back as January."

Joe is really good at these town halls. He did two already on CNN, much better than the debates.

the experts he's assembled for his health team, also with his economy team. (And no doubt others.) Also that he put out a something-point list of recommendations not long ago. We'll be hearing what our president and congress should be doing, and extremely tragically, and traitorously, aren't. That that he'll say that last, just know it.

This national holocaust isn't going to be over when our next president takes office. An autumn surge in new cases with cold weather is expected, whether a summer lull occurs or not. Competence and hitting the ground running are critical. We can expect the Republicans to try to run the nation even further into ground if they lose because making Democrats take over disasters (including giant, crippling deficits they very deliberately create) and drag the nation out of the hole they created is their pattern.
