I like the idea of a Biden/Whitmer ticket. Is that a possibility?

I am so impressed with her and we need to draw on our younger, talented Democrats.

What do you think?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

There are several women that I would be okay with as long as it does not include any of the people who ran for the Democratic nomination. Some of the possibilities would include your suggestion, along with someone like Val Demings. There are several reasons why I have formed this opinion concerning the former candidates.

1. There are some candidates who I believe will bring little or nothing to his campaign.
2. There are several candidates that would better serve the country, and themselves by staying in the positions they now hold.
3. There are several candidates who would be ideal choices for key positions in a Biden Administration.

We shouldn't pick a VP from a swing state just because "she" resides in a swing state. I'm not saying that because Whitmer is a bad choice, she is an excellent choice. I say that because I have no problem with Joe picking someone from a deep blue state like California.
Kamala Harris is tough as nails and that's what we need right now. She will destroy Mike Pence in a debate, if we have a debate.

I also don't think Michigan will be too much of a swing state this time around. I know Trump won it in 2016, but he won it by the skin of his teeth, and Joe is significantly more popular there than Hillary was.

By May, Perot was leading presidential polls in both Texas and California. The Bush and Clinton campaigns became concerned about a candidacy, and publicly wondered if Perot could continue to "play by his own rules".[39] They attempted to downgrade Perot from his "folk hero status"[39] to that of a politician, by highlighting his "alleged character flaws".[39]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_Perot_1992_presidential_campaign

He starting losing credibility with some of his crazy comments and odd background then the VP debate with Admiral Stockdale finished him off. Even so he ended up 19% of the vote. He was a serious contender.

Biden must maintain the African-American vote and the only way to do that is to pick an African-American VP, preferably a woman. My community will see the 'same ole, same ole' if he selects a white male or even a white woman. It must be either a Latino or an African-America to hold our vote.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been mentioned as a potential running mate for the Democratic presidential nominee but Monday again tamped down such speculation.

Whitmer praised former Vice President Joe Biden for committing to pick a woman to be his running mate, but "it's not going to be me," she told MSNBC.

"I think it's important that he has a woman running mate, to be honest. I think that there are a lot of phenomenal potential running mates for him," said Whitmer, who endorsed Biden this month and serves as a co-chair of his national campaign.

"I'm going to help him vet and make sure he's got a great running mate. It is not going to be me," she added with a smile. "But I'm going to have a hand in helping make sure that that he has got the rounded out ticket that can win.”

Better a Governor than a Senator. We don’t want to maybe enable the Trump party to pick up a Senator. Because if we don’t hold the Senate it lessens our ability to make the changes we need to make.
