(17,772 posts)Of course, it is classic BS revisionism to blame Warren for speaking out about his comments that a woman can't win the Presidency. Even before then, Bernie's campaign was trying to smear Warren. Bernie wins by tearing down his allies. Even before then, Bernie's campaign targeted Beto O'Rourke who had been inspired by Bernie previously.

Sanders campaign has begun stealthily attacking Warren as a candidate of the upper crust who could not expand the Democratic base in a general election, according to talking points his campaign is using to sway voters and obtained by POLITICO.
The script instructs Sanders volunteers to tell voters leaning toward the Massachusetts senator that the people who support her are highly-educated, more affluent people who are going to show up and vote Democratic no matter what and that she's bringing no new bases into the Democratic Party.
I like Elizabeth Warren. (ptional) the script begins. In fact, shes my second choice. But heres my concern about her. It then pivots to the criticisms of Warren.

How'd that work out for him? BS campaign chose the wrong woman to try and tear down at the Debate.. this did come back to haunt them. And, I am so appreciative.
So damn disingenuous to try and paint any Dem candidate as "elite".. I hate that. BS said that on tv.. about our Democratic Party AFTER trump got rigged in.. Blaming in on Hillary when we were all so raw and in pain.
Thanks for the info, Tom

I go every Sunday on the bus to the beach town where my natural food store is.. I now have a cool homemade mask from a tea towel that I will wear for the first time tomorrow.
We can go out for exercise.. running or walking. I have place close to my Apt that has a large expanse of grass where I run back and forth.. look forward to my runs now!

(43,612 posts)claiming they'd love to vote for a woman, just not "that woman." They were touting SPW (Senator Professor Warren, Charlie Pierce) as the woman they'd love to vote for.
How times change.

They loved her as 'Not That Woman' then:
Then...she was vilified when she confronted the man.
Women need to shut the hell up. Hell no. She persisted.
Here is a fact. A short time Senior Senator of MA did more about those big banks Bernie has railed about for decades. She did it before she became a Senator. Her baby, CFPB.
He talks....Warren walks it.

You see, if you don't choose Bernie, you are going a list! This is the kind of slimeball behavior that made voters sick of Bernie's supporters and, ultimately, Bernie himself.

(58,785 posts)insurance illegal. I believed from the beginning that she had to distance herself from Sanders, to counter the pernicious misconception being pushed that she was a whackjob LW extremist.
And every time she didn't, every time she instead cuddled in closer to draw those with Sanders, both the ideology and the mistaken judgement caused me to accept that she would not become a true competitor. We are not an extremist party, nor as Sanders insists a conservative one. Liberals fall between the two, with huge, significant differences from both. We are the creators of progressive government and protect it from attacks from both sides.
I still admire her, but I'll like her best in the senate or an important can-do position under Biden. I'm still rather hoping VP is on the list.
