Joe's statement about Bernie

?s=20

I know Bernie well. He’s a good man, a great leader, and one of the most powerful voices for change in our country. And it’s hard to sum up his contributions to our politics in one, single tweet. So I won’t try to. https://joe.link/34maUXC

?s=20

And to Bernie’s supporters: I know that I need to earn your votes. And I know that might take time. But I want you to know that I see you, I hear you, and I understand the urgency of this moment. I hope you'll join us. You're more than welcome: You're needed.

?s=20

Together we will defeat Donald Trump. But we will also address the climate crisis. We will make college affordable. And we will make health care available to all. We will not just rebuild this nation – we’ll transform it. And I’m asking you to join me. https://joe.link/3aTm5cZ

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

He seems to imagine that he was crushed even though Democrats want him to write the platform for the party. That is not supporting the Democratic nominee. I saw his suspension speech as just another not so veiled threat against the Democrats who dare to oppose him.

That’s your first mistake. It all bullshit. Any Bernie supporters who will not vote for Biden would most likely not vote anyway.

We don’t need those folks. They are unreachable anyway.

A great majority of Bernie supporters will vote Democratic.

It all about turnout.

Stop letting Twitter, Facebook or any other social media shit affect your judgment. Because it is all shit. Your best bet is deleting them all.

Life without social media is as good as it was before social media. Best decision I ever made. But people are addicted. My sister complains constantly about what she reads on it. When I advise her to eliminate them all she acts like I’ve told her to sacrifice her first born. I took her to Paris. She spent the entire time making sure she had great selfies for Facebook. Never gave a thought to actually enjoying Paris. Boggled my mind.

I’m telling you. It’s addictive.

So maybe it’s not affecting your judgement. And I apologize for that. I don’t have a clue.

But it sure as hell affected your reaction. You reacted to post by people you’ve never known, never will know and might not be what they seem. Might not even be real.

And that’s my point. Social Media is a cesspool. If you respond to it they are dragging you into their cesspool. They like it there.

I don’t know you from Adam. But with family and friends when I tell them they should delete Facebook, Twitter hell all of them, it’s like telling a junkie to stay away from smack. They can’t do it. Even if they admit it is not good.

"Bernie has an incredible following. Bernie's one of probably a half a dozen people in American history who may not be the nominee but has had an impact on American politics in a significant way...and a positive way," Biden said.

"So if I'm the nominee, I can tell you one thing: I would very much want Bernie to be part of the journey, engaging in all the things he's worked so hard to do, many of which I agree with."

You obviously didn't watch Bernie's speech. But nevermind.

I'm movin' on with Joe, watch how he works with the candidate you don't trust. I'm pretty sure he wants Bernie's youth vote, and pretty sure Bernie wants Democrats to beat BD so much that he'll work with Joe to get better youth turnout which, so far, hasn't worked well for Bernie.

from wikipedia:

"Only 30 per cent of millennials think it's 'essential' to live in a democracy, compared to 72 percent of those born before World War II" (Gershman, 2018).

Considering that one of the critical tenets of liberal democracy is voting, the idea that millennials are denouncing the value of democracy is arguably an indicator of the loss of faith in the importance of voting.

Thus, it can be surmised that those of younger ages may not be inclined to vote during elections."

Until then, I'll follow Joe's lead -- part of which is to believe that neither candidate's candle shines brighter by blowing the other one's out.

Then you know that he did "talk of unity" in that video. So if you're tired of trying to think the best of Bernie, leave that up to Biden, and at least don't deny positive things Bernie actually does say.

I agree on your take on the youth vote. I think that Biden, though, still wants to try Bernie's methods of drawing that vote.
