There are people who don't like it because Pete is making headway, that he is getting out there doing interviews, that he will be the President of all of America, not just one group of people. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Win or lose, it doesn't matter. We support Pete because of his honesty, his humility, his kindness and his intellect. Pete would not be happy with any of his supporters engaging in poor or ugly conversations on his behalf in any forum. We need to remember that.

(2,809 posts)I'm getting a lot of slamming here on DU for mentioning that Joe Biden fails to excite the millennials.
I have faith in Pete to snap back common sense retorts to the Orange Shartcannon's ascerbic attacks.
I'll admit to straddling the fence with my support for Pete, or Kamala.
Yet I believe Pete's bully handling tact can give us an edge, as well as easy rapport with youth.

I literally know no one remotely my age (so lets say 16, as they can vote, probably, in 2020 to around 35) who supports Biden as their main choice. None are remotely excited by him. I see these 'stories' pushed by some saying 'My 3 teenagers or early 20's all LOVE Joe, and would never, ever support anyone else.' I call bollocks, or the parent has dommed up the kids.
Many of my social set simply do not like him at all. The feeling is mutual: (this is a big reason I am so not a fan)
Biden Trashes Millennials in His Quest to Become Even Less Likable
"Give me a break," he said of young people who "think they have it tough."

In an apparent effort to make himself an even less appealing 2020 contender, former Vice President Joe Biden had some harsh words for millennials while promoting his new book on Wednesday. Here's what he said in a conversation with Patt Morrison of the LA Times:
"The younger generation now tells me how tough things are. Give me a break. No, no, I have no empathy for it. Give me a break. Because heres the deal guys, we decided we were gonna change the world. And we did. We did. We finished the civil rights movement in the first stage. The womens movement came to be. So my message is, get involved. Theres no place to hide. You can go and you can make all the money in the world, but you can't build a wall high enough to keep the pollution out. You can't live whereyou can't not be diminished when your sister can't marry the man or woman, or the woman she loves. You can'twhen you have a good friend being profiled, you can't escape this stuff. And so, there's an old expression my philosophy professor would always use from Plato, 'The penalty people face for not being involved in politics is being governed by people worse than themselves.' It's wide open. Go out and change it."
Let's take this line by line.
A January 2017 analysis of Federal Reserve data found that millennials, who are better educated than baby boomers, have a median household income of $40,581, meaning they earn 20 percent less than boomers did when they were our age. We're crippled with student debt to the point where home ownership is a pipe dream. So here's the deal, JoeI'll give you a break if you give me some money.

Biden is like Bernie. They both are far more likeable than some of their supporters.
If Pete was the one with a lead, there is NO WAY I would be going all arrogant and demanding a one-way street (in terms of treatment) and calling shit over and done in mid-May 2019. Super irritating.
