It was especially effective because Joe Biden has been through the crucible, experienced that profound loss more than once. He is a man who can connect on a very human level as well as bring his lifetime of experience and knowledge to the task at hand.
Though he ran unsuccessfully before, this is Joe Biden's moment. We're lucky he's around and willing to serve the country.
