Democratic U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan was officially named chair of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign in Wisconsin. Pocan had previously endorsed Sanders, the independent from Vermont, and called him the most electable candidate to take on President Donald Trump.
The Sanders team rolled out a list of endorsements early Monday ahead of the April 7 Democratic Party presidential primary.
"In this an unprecedented moment in history, it is more important than ever that we come together and look out for one another, said Sean Ward, who is coordinating the Sanders campaign in Wisconsin. We are grateful to these Wisconsin leaders who are standing with Sen. Sanders in the fight to protect and safeguard our nation through these uncertain and dangerous times.
State Rep. David Bowen, former congressional candidate Randy Bryce, dairy farmer Sarah Lloyd and Marcelia Nicholson of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors were among those named vice chairs of the Sanders Wisconsin campaign. Other vice chairs include labor leaders Angelina Cruz of Racine Education Association, Amy Mizialko of Milwaukee Teachers Education Association and Peter Rickman of Milwaukee Area Service & Hospitality Workers Organization. In addition, the campaign announced endorsements from 14 other elected officials, labor and community leaders.
