DU4 Bug Reports
Related: About this forumThere's too much of white background.
I'm reading DU on 1080p monitor, desktop PC.
The new design has a great, clean look, but the "snow-bright" white background is rendering it tiring and uncomfortable to the viewer's eye.
If it's possible, could the background be changed to a different shade of white (pale white, for example) to make it more visually pleasing to the viewer's eye.
Here's a huge selection of shades of white color that you might find interesting:

(22,706 posts)DU3 has an entirely white background set to the "most white" it can possibly be (hex value #ffffff).
DU4 also uses that hex value for backgrounds in areas where text is present, but the main site background color is off-white (hex value #fafafa).

(299 posts)Can the background area where text is written be changed to be less white?
not at the moment.
There are a number of visual features that people have requested (for example, larger fonts) and so during this testing phase I'm going to be collecting these suggestions and then we'll work to see if we can include them as options in Account Settings.
So while you'll have to put up with the current colors for now, a "slightly less bright posts" option is something that we should be able to put together fairly easily -- it will just take a little time for us to get to it.
