I want to live in the U.S. that Bernie envisions.

(220,663 posts)One of my oldest friends now lives in Vermont and she's all in for Bernie. She's gone to his fundraisers which were held on a boat on Lake Champlain and I asked her to invite me the next time!

(4,340 posts)Honestly, you know this is the fire and passion I wish we'd seen from him early on in 2016. Better late than never, I suppose. This time, I hope that enough of his fans find it to be inspiring enough to get out and vote, and to get OTHERS of their friends and family to get out and vote too.

(4,340 posts)* I'll go so far to agree that he has good ideas, but in my estimation the "best" ideas are the ones that also involve compromise and finding common ground so that they end up in successful legislation that's passed and signed into law. This speech was a good one, but there's a lot more he needs to do, and a lot more changes that need to come about before I'll join the choir that sings his praises. Call me a skeptical but initially pleased and open minded observer, right now. That's about as good as it's going to get for me.
PS: I enjoy your posts and links and videos and articles. I don't know where you find the time... but I'm glad you do.

(572 posts)and we love Bernie; he's always been a stalwart progressive voice. He is an independent that was invited to speak at the DNC; pretty solid credential there. Just wanted to temper the idea that it's only the NE that respects Bernie Sanders.

(4,340 posts)Actually, I never said that. And it's unclear to me how my actual words could lead anyone to arrive at that conclusion or interpretation.
If the "deep south dark red" loved him as much as you're suggesting, then it would actually be blue (or at least a shade of purple) right?
Well, that's all... I just wanted to temper the idea that the deep south dark red states are actually blue-states in disguise.

(572 posts)thanks to true American citizens such as Bernie Sanders. If I misread your post I apologize, but we had a nice warm thread of appreciation going for the man and it was suddenly thrown into contention. I'd rather leave this thread and be happy so let's move on.
