"I just want a recount" isn't going to work. There needs to be proof that one is warranted. I'm sorry if my response doesn't meet your expectations, but unrealistic expectations were a common problem here on DU this cycle and a big reason why many were so shocked at the outcome. They're also making it understandably harder to accept. I prefer to be realistic than give people false hope, though that's sometimes at odds here. And that's fine.

The bar for requesting a recount is extremely high in Michigan, as noted. If evidence existed to request a recount, I can't imagine that the campaign wouldn't have done so by now. They have 48 hours after canvassing is completed.

There are about 200,000 Arab-Americans who are registered voters in Michigan. Most of them likely did not vote for either one of the presidential candidates as a protest non-vote action.


trump won Michigan by approximately 83,000 votes.
