They will burn it all down for personal gain.

Currently at this time in world history we're the world's military super power so as a society we face more temptations the lust for greed, power and fear of losing our dominance.

As the predominant power, our acts are magnified both for good and evil.

I believe at this time we've reached the crossroads that all historical empires have faced at one point or another with the rise of their fundamentalist myths since the time of Socrates.

End stage capitalism destroyed us.

The world, including the U.S. is facing too much wealth imbalance and the oligarchs' immense power of magnifying fear while also punching down and shifting the blame to the "other" via their vast financial influences both legal and illegal has become the predominant national/global security threat.

The fundamental question becomes which way will we ultimately turn at the crossroads?

The GOP has aligned with the global oligarchs and autocrats.
They want the same thing the autocrats have in other countries.
Total permanent power and access to all national financial assets.

The world billionaires and autocrats are done with democracy.
It no longer serves their needs for total power and wealth.

They will not share the world's wealth or power.

and I'm not ready to give up.

I don't believe that most Americans, nor citizens of the world are, that's why the Republicans were so scared of the word for waking up.
