who don't know these encrypting apps and there was zero walk-through as to how to use them for phone calls and texts. BAD JOB NBC. Same for every published story I've read to date.

This means maybe 10% of the public will ever do anything about it. I intend to, but for right now, I'm not texting anyone I don't know to be on an iPhone. While I have no problem setting up WhatsApp, it is not clear to me what needs to happen to encrypt voice calls and I don't have the time to research.
