Because they've already given in far too many times on fiscal and domestic policy issues. I hope they're going to use this as a start to gradually pull away from Trumpism on issues like the tariffs, healthcare, Ukraine, etc

But strangely they went along with his nasty comments about Paul Pelosi. I think they see he’s dooming them in the midterms if they don’t distance themselves from him and start listening to their constituents. They made themselves heard loud and clear at the town halls and then the No Kings protests and now the poll numbers. Sadly, they’re taking this as an opportunity to save themselves but I still don’t think they would be doing this out of concern of what’s right for the country.

And given the economic fix that his "policies" brought about, even Republicans, panicking about the midterms, are starting to wake up and (finally) push back...
