for the ability to destroy the parts of government that were investigating him.

It was never about saving money, efficiency, whatever.

It was always a completely corrupt quid pro quo

I often wonder what studying this time period in our history will consist of - assuming we continue to have a history. I'm living it right now and it's totally beyond me, every time we think it can't possibly get worse, it inevitably does.
