Trump: 'We are going to do something on Greenland whether they like it or not' - NBC News

In a meeting with oil executives, President Trump told reporters the U.S. would be taking action on Greenland, saying "because if we don’t do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland, and we’re not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor." NBC News' Monica Alba explains.

Greenland has nothing to do with security. We already have the Danish and Greenland governments permission to put as many military installations, surface warships, subs as we want. Trump wants Greenland because with the Greenland land mass added to the US land mass, it would be larger than Russia. That's why he wants it. That's why he wanted Canada as a 51st state. It was his ego with Putin.

If Russia or China were to attack Greenland, all members of NATO would consider it an attack on themselves . Seems like a big hurdle for Russia or China to consider.
