If gas is up 40% by today's numbers, then the base would be 71.43% of today's price.
But Trump promised to cut energy prices in half so the true base would be 35.71% of today's price.
That would be a 180% price increase by Trump's earlier promise.
As if Trump's promise/word had any value.

Here in NY it was $2.99 +/- a few cents.

I didn't think she faked it. The national average at that time was about $3.05 - $3.10

There were a couple of times in late 2024 that I gassed up for 2.09 per gallon.

Yesterday I gassed up for 3.79 at that exact location.

On February 28th of this year. Costco went under $2/gal at that time.

It’s now $4.59 at the station on the main drag.
