Tim Snyder speaks about his book, On Tyranny, and

a follow up book, On Freedom. This is an audio discussion that is around 40 minutes long. He makes some significant points about what freedom is, i.e. positive freedom vs. negative freedom. In a nutshell, positive freedom is not just opposition to an obstacle, but it is the freedom to do or to be something. He covers it in more depth.

Snyder also mentions that he is glad to see that people understand his point in On Tyranny about anticipatory obedience. But he explains that this is only the first step in not allowing authoritarianism to rule.

Worth taking the time to listen. Since it is an audio broadcast, you can listen to it while doing something else around home or in the yard or driving somewhere.
