I would add to this video NEVER ARGUE WITH A CRAZY PERSON. It just never works. Let them spew and give a noncommittal "OK" and leave. If they press the matter, just give another noncommittal "OK." Eventually they'll go away in search of another bloviator or even an artgument.

Also, do take 10 minutes a day and/or whenever you need it to center yourself in relative quiet. The bathroom is a good place for this if you live with other people, nobody much questions a locked bathroom door.

Parallel structure doesn't have to be artistic. It can be centered around card or board games, Victorian fiction, sportsball games, even reld letter bible study groups--all too pious to be questioned and none fear based enough to attract the loonies but sufficient to keep sane people socially connected while they wait for the madness to pass and hope they're alive to see it end.
