The Election Was Closer Than You Think The Rational National

As more results come in it's clear the election was much closer than originally thought on election night. I break that down, discuss some of the lessons that must be learned from this, and share Bernie Sanders' scathing letter to the Democratic Party.

The senate numbers in those states were much wider than the presidential race. Few people were voting that way in such a polarized election. How did Casey in PA outperform Harris?? How did Slotkin in MI? How did Gallego in AZ??

If our democratic system survives, we'll have a chance to recover, but I really don't expect that. Not that Trump will (or could) cancel elections, but with the help of Republican lackeys in state governments, he can make elections meaningless -- just like his buddy Putin.

I'm tired of all the hand-wringing about the election. If you want to know what happened, go to the Brennan Center for Justice's website on voter purging. It started in 2008 and will continue until 2024. SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS.
