Mary Trump is brilliant. She is smart and she knows her uncle well. She has the training, experience and knowledge to make the judgments she pontificates upon.

But I have to ask, who cares?

She's just a YouTube voice without any power or influence beyond the internet.

To be clear, I like her immensely and I think she's incredibly smart. But her posts have had no positive influence on our electorate.After all, Trump won.

Accordingly, Dr. Trump is ineffectual.

Sadly.

She has 1.6 million followers on X and more than 260,000 followers on Bluesky.

Her first book about Trump, "Too Much and Never Enough" (2020) sold close to one million copies on its first day of sale, and details how she was the anonymous source who provided the New York Times with Trump family tax returns.

Her uncle Donald sued her and the New York Times for $100 million.
The New York State Supreme Court ultimately dismissed the Times from the suit and ordered Donald Trump to pay $400,000 in legal fees.
