(705 posts)I agree. I listened to the whole thing from an earlier post. Unfortunately, I was the only one who posted. So don't expect much this time around. It's kinda sad, because it was well worth the listen. Do democrats here, not like these two? I think they're great.

(12,483 posts)It's not that, it's that people are not quick to click play on a video that's over an hour long, unless there's some text explaining what's so good about it, and/or which section(s) to jump to to see the particular aspect(s) the OP wants to highlight, etc.

(1,244 posts)The fact that it's an hour long may incline people to skip it.
If that's the case try just listening to a segment from about 5 minutes to around 11 minutes to get a sense of the conversation. To me it's the kind of discussion that would fit right into the 'Way Forward" forum.

(1,244 posts)At first happy he was coming back on air and then feeling disgusted by cheap comedy shots at Biden.
But this interview is good. It's more about the insights from AOC. And Jon Stewart is actually pretty reasonable here when not doing his comedy schtick.
If you have some down time and are looking for something interesting, this is worth a watch.

(12,483 posts)If Biden provided fodder for a laugh, that's where he'd go. Same with Colbert, who I've seen similarly criticized here, even though it's clear that Colbert has a lot of affection and respect for Biden, which he clearly doesn't have for the other guy.
Yes, Stewart's show is more specifically "political commentary" oriented than Colbert's. But I think the fact is, Biden did have issues (e.g. the debate) that anyone could see. To ignore that, in a way, I think would have actually *undercut* his far more numerous and severe criticisms of Trump. The portion of Stewarts (or Colbert's) audience who is not heavily invested in one party of the other may be more receptive to the criticism-behind-the-joke for one guy if they see both sides getting the same kind of treatment. There are advantages to not being seen as overly partisan, if you're trying to reach anyone at all not already solidly singing in the choir.
