after a bit of a slow start, it was one zinger after another all the way through after that.

And again, according to the consumer price index, yes, the admin's own numbers, year-over-year inflation has been rising for 5 straight months, and is now at 3.0% (the Fed target, as always, is 2.0%)

And in the last 3 months prices have increased 0.9%, which annualizes to about a 3.6% annualized inflation rate (Calculating more accurately using the actual index values, it also comes to 3.6%)

ETA - yes, the consumer price index (CPI) does include food and energy. It's the CORE CPI that excludes these items.

Note also that any above-zero inflation rate means that prices on average are going up.
