It is a mistake to underestimate Trump. People laughed when he announced in 2015. I remember George Stephenopoulos laughing and saying "he will never be President". Well, everyone that thought that was wrong. He has now been elected to the Presidency twice. He is better prepared and surrounded by dedicated, life-long Fascists who have been planning for this their entire lives.

Hope is important but it must be tempered by realism.
