Trump expected to drop $10 billion lawsuit, then launch $1.7B 'weaponization' fund for allies "targeted under Biden"
The fund would compensate allies who claim they were targeted under Biden.

Trump is expected to drop his $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service in exchange for the creation of a $1.7 billion fund to compensate allies who claim they were wrongfully targeted by the Biden administration, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.
The commission overseeing the compensation fund would have the total authority to hand out approximately $1.7 billion in taxpayer funds to settle claims brought by anyone who alleges they were harmed by the Biden administration's "weaponization" of the legal system, including the nearly 1,600 individuals charged in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol attack as well as potentially entities associated with President Trump himself.
While the settlement is expected to be agreed upon in the coming days, sources caution that the final terms will not be set until they are officially announced.
In addition to a public apology from the IRS, the compensation fund is believed to be the main condition for Trump to drop a series of legal actions he filed against the federal government, including the $10 billion lawsuit related to the 2019 leak of his tax returns as well as $230 million in legal claims related to the 2022 search of his Mar-a-Lago estate and the Russia collusion investigation he faced during his first term in office, sources familiar with the ongoing deliberations said.

Louisiana lawmakers advanced a congressional map on Thursday that would eliminate one of the states two majority-Black congressional districts, moving Republicans one step closer to securing a 5-1 advantage in the states House delegation ahead of the midterms.
The state Senate voted 27-10 to approve Senate Bill 121, a GOP-backed proposal that would largely restore Louisianas 2022 congressional map, created before Louisiana added a second majority-Black district following court challenges under the Voting Rights Act.
The proposal would dismantle the 6th Congressional District currently represented by Democratic Rep. Cleo Fields and redraw it into a Republican-leaning seat.
The map would leave Louisiana with a single majority-Black congressional district: the New Orleans-centered 2nd District represented by Democratic Rep. Troy Carter.

JORDAN: I think it's certainly fine for people to travel with the president
COLLINS: Even despite his business ventures?

Hakeem Jeffries: "...an American president went to China & bent the knee to the Chinese Communist Party"

Jeffries: Trump went overseas to China and embarrassed the country, as always. It's unfortunate, but it's extraordinary to me that you had an American president go over to China and bend the knee to the Chinese Communist Party.
