In reply to the discussion: Theresa May is in serious trouble [View all]OnDoutside
(20,673 posts)8. Hi Malaise
We should be clear, May was ALWAYS in trouble ! She's only in the position because those cowards (Johnson, Davies, Gove etc) didn't want to be the one going down in history as having "delivered" Brexit. May doesn't have a long term future as PM....push is coming to shove.
Also, the Brexit deal she agreed to, just allows the UK to trade under the EU umbrella, until they get their shit together (which could be years). During that time, they will have given up their MEPs, any EU Commissioners and probably representation at Prime Ministerial level meetings.
The plan put out by Downing Street, basically gives her 3 attempts at trying to get this through. If she fails at that point, then she either resigns, calls a General Election or goes to a Referendum (I think there may well be two, as there are three options).

It's a full series each year. Look for series 13, episode 7 for one of the Windrush tributes.

Great post. Yeah, the way she became PM always struck me as the classic image of an Army 'volunteer"
