10. A lot of people don't get that when the government won't protect your rights, or won't even

allow that you have rights, the marginalized have to band together to take care of business.

Yes, you advocate for change.

Yes, you vote. (When you are allowed to - voter suppression tactics are making that harder)

But you also network to take care of each other.

Course, a lot of people just expect government to do the right thing. Or they feel protected because what is happening doesn't directly impact them - but that's a lie. If you are in a group that isn't male, straight, the right skin hue, and the right religion and politics - the authoritarians will come for you and your rights.

They think they are protected even knowing the history of the struggle for rights in America.

The arc might bend toward justice - eventually - but people's lives are on the line now.

Eventually ain't good enough. Never has been. Never will be.

This includes voting rights, being able to exist while black or brown, the rights of women, the rights of LGBT people, the rights of First Peoples, and everyone who has been marginalized by the white, primarily male and Christian oppressors.

You don't march and protest and mobilize just for your rights.

You do it for all the marginalized.
