It's so damaging. When you hear Republicans contonue to entertain Trump's election lies it's harming our democracy. Every time you hear Republicans claim these prosecutions of Trump are political it's a blow to our democracy.

Democracies only work when there's a shared set of beliefs that support the idea that the voters have collective power. I know we ridicule them, but there is a good 25% of this country right now that doesn't believe we have a legitimate democracy anymore because of Republican lies. That's not good at all, those people are apt to do away with our system of government all together since they no longer belief it's democratic. It's an incredibly dangerous thing, and the GOP doesn't seem to be walking them back from the edge at all, quite the opposite actually.
