In reply to the discussion: Pic Of The Moment: If The Only Poll That Matters Is The One On Election Day, Republicans Are In Trouble [View all]Oopsie Daisy
(6,670 posts)34. You're correct! I just find it disturbing that our supposed allies are advising Democrats to pull-our-punches *
* and not focus on "divisive" and "controversial" issues like women's reproductive rights. To me, this looks like a winning issue, and we had it right all along, but here's what one Democratic ally wrote regarding the last midterms:
"But, as we enter the final weeks of the 2022 midterm elections, I am alarmed to hear the advice that many Democratic candidates are getting from establishment consultants and directors of well-funded Super Pacs that the closing argument of Democrats should focus only on abortion. Cut the 30-second abortion ads and coast to victory."
Obviously, this is BS! As we now see, this will be a strong and winning issue for Democrats. Women are tired of being dismissed and disregarded as being unimportant pawns of "establishment" consultants and "well-funded Super Pacs" (presumably funded by oligarchs and millionaires/billionaires). This is not a "wedge issue" ... this is THE issue!!

They killed their boogeyman & awakened a dragon. An "egregious error" as Alito would say.

I'm glad that people ignored it when someone declared "Planned Parenthood was part of the Establishment"

So much male arrogance and entitlement and misogyny was behind that scolding.

Indeed, it's so obvious (and so offensive). Why are they allowed to get away with it?
