He lost because his opponent, the incumbent Carol Miller, ran relentless television commercials reminding voters that back in 2016, Derrick Evans was a Democrat, who ran on the same ticket as Hillary Clinton and supported all of her woke policies!

The fact that he broke into the Capitol on January 6, 2020, was never mentioned.
