First, accept reality. Biden is "old" (yes, so is Trump, but that's not relevant now). He walks stiffly. Most of the time he speaks very quietly. He sometimes loses his train of thought. None of those are disqualifying for him serving as President, but they are a challenge to his effort to assuage the concerns of undecided voters.
Second, acknowledge that Biden isn't spending a lot of time on the campaign trail. He honestly (from the emails I get) seems to spend more time going to fundraisers, which mean going before a supportive audience.
Third, for those suggesting we need a replacment, understand the immense complexity of doing this 8 weeks out from the Convention and building a united front around that candidate and THEN raising the billion dollars needed for fund the new campaign.
So, consider the following:
Biden's biggest strength is personal (1 on 1) empathy. I've seen him engage with people in the audience magnificently and then give an uninspiring group speech. Build up his campaign schedule so that 2-3 times a week he goes to somewhere in a Battleground State and meets with ordinary voters. Go to a factory and talk to union employees about how he's building up jobs and salaries to meet the impact of inflation. Go to a medical clinic and talk to patients about the cost of prescription drugs and how he's lowering them. Go to universities in the Fall and talk to students about reducing tuition debt AND about gen Z's foreign policy issues. The more he shows up on local TV, the more voters will be comfortable with his speaking style and limitations.
Second, send his cabinet out as surrogates with much greater frequency. Those following the UK elections will be aware of the concept of a "shadow cabinet" ready to step in to Ministry leadership. The point is to frame the election not as Biden vs Trump but as Biden AND HIS TEAM vs Trump AND HIS TEAM (with a reminder that Trump's previous team doesn't think he should be re-elected). Buttigieg should be talking weekly about infrastructure. Raimondo should be talking weekly about job growth. Beccera should be talking about health care costs. O'Malley should be talking about protecting social security and Medicare.
Finally, given VP Harris a specific job: "prosecuting" (as a former AG) the case against Trump. She can attack him much more eloquently than Biden can, and preferably goad him into melt-downs and over-reactions.
