8. Solar technology has come so far

The efficiency is dramatically improved and the storage of energy is better too.

In my state, and many others, there's still a racket on the electricity industry though, they don't let consumers use their own electricity that their solar panels produce, it's sold back to the grid and homes are hooked up to the grid still and they get credits for the energy that goes onto the grid. And it's a fraction of market value.

In a better system, homes with solar would be hooked to the grid for emergencies, and their excess energy would be sold at market value. Most homes with solar panels are producing more energy than they use, but they're still being charged something when they should be getting written a mnthly check.
