I live in Burlington, Vermont. A few weeks before Bernie had his heart attack, my husband and I went to a potluck dinner before a NPA meeting in our section of town. One of the organizers was Carina Driscoll, his step daughter.
All of us made plates and took seats chatting with neighbors. In walks Bernie and Jane, who went to the end of the line, ignored offers to jump the line and sat at the same table we were at. (His stepson was at our table.) Carina told us that she knew he was in Burlington and she had told him about the community dinners, but she was surprised that in the middle of the campaign he came. He seemed to most enjoy the kids that came over to him.

John Kerry being attacked by "swiftboat veterans for truth". Truth in the title gives it away.

Fwiw, one of Trump's campaign managers masterminded the Swift Boat attack. He's a monster.

I'm truly amazed at how many really awful people there are out there. And they all seem to find each other so easily!

"personable and energized, very warm and friendly". That would make for a great candidate!

I have heard that Hillary was much warmer, and at ease with individual, and small group encounters...

Great stories. I'd probably want to run for office if I had been sitting next to her flying across the US!

Shook Jimmy Carter's elbow when I graduated from college. Missed his hand, but got his elbow. But he was still Governor.
