Could have something to do with his father, former Governor Stev e Beshear, having been in a traffic accident yesterday (said to have been announced by Andy on Twitter/X. On the other hand, there's this story in the Lexington Herald Leader:
As Kamala Harris inches closer to choosing a VP, Andy Beshear buzz builds in Kentucky
In newly minted presidential candidate Kamala Harris ongoing search for a running mate, we know one thing today: Shell campaign with her vice presidential nominee in Philadelphia Tuesday. And heres what we still dont know: Who will it be? All indications point to Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear still being in the mix, though he and his team have remained quiet on the matter. Beshears schedule was noticeably blank Wednesday. Thats significant because its rare that the 46-year-old governor is not out-and-about in the commonwealth at public events. Eric Hyers, Beshears top political consultant, confirmed that Beshears schedule was clear Wednesday. Crystal Staley, the governors official spokesperson, told the Herald-Leader Beshear had no scheduled public events Wednesday and Thursday before the governor will headline an event for the Oklahoma Democratic Party tonight. This is happening on the same week that, according to numerous media outlets, the Harris team is conducting formal interviews.

I really like all the possible choices for VP, all have the potential to be really good picks. I'm particularly leaning towards Andy Beshear because I think he has the potential to sway rural voters from both the south and the north - my perspective from living in a conservative rural area in Michigan and wintering in the south (not Florida!). I've been reading UAW president Shawn Fain favors him for VP, and it is said in an article I saw posted elsewhere here that he is one of the candidates favored by a group of progressive leaders (though it is not clear exactly who those folks are). Anyway, just putting in my two cents for what it's worth.
