7. No consequences and look where we are now

I was 14 when he announced this and frankly, I was very upset. Nixon was a crook and horrible person and Ford should have never pardoned him. I'll never forgive Nixon or Ford for that nightmare. My first vote was for Jimmy Carter and unfortunately, he lost. Because of this whole nightmare and Jimmy losing, I didn't vote for decades. If politics came on the air during the news, I would literally change the channel. I hated politics. I came to my senses and voted for Obama and I've been hooked since.
