Kamala Harris fails the test by not being perfect in every single way, while Donald Trump looked extremely Presidential.

No matter what she does, she's going to be unfairly criticized, and he is going to be lauded. Even if he audibly and odoriferously shits himself on stage mid-sentence, the MSM is going to ignore it or make excuses for him, and simultaneously tear her down. You know that line from Wargames, "The only winning move is not to play"? Even if she did that, she would be piled upon by a media apparatus that is firmly committed to making him seem like a serious and viable Presidential candidate.

"I just never thought it could be corrupted this easily, and am damn angry about it."

The founders of this country never envisioned that a venal, corrupt, utterly immoral, intellectually incurious and literally demented man like Trump would ever be taken seriously by the body politic. H.L. Mencken was more attuned to the average voter however:

“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
